I have previously taught in the UK and held leadership roles in British International Schools across Malaysia, Egypt, and Oman. My experience includes using data-driven assessment to inform instruction and drive student progress. I prioritise differentiated instructional strategies that cater to diverse learning needs, with a particular focus on fostering strong literacy skills and a love for reading. My approach is rooted in creating inclusive learning environments where every student can thrive academically and personally.
As a Business Development Manager, Elakkiya is responsible for ensuring that schools in the Middle East and North Africa are equipped to leverage the full potential of Renaissance Learning’s transformative assessment and practise solutions to improve student outcomes.
Elakkiya combines industry expertise with a passion for fostering successful collaborations, and significantly contributing to our customers’ success.
I started my career as an English teacher and have worked in both the UK state and private sector before moving oversees to Egypt and now Oman. Before moving into senior leadership, I was heavily involved in literacy programmes supporting literacy develop of both native and ESL learners. My particular passion is for reading and finding ways for young people today to get lost in literature. Being part of a new school here in Muscat, always us to innovate the way we deliver reading programmes for a modern age.Â
Ash is an International Consultant at GL Education, aiding major school groups to improve their students’ successes, through the effective use of formative data.
With over 8 years’ experience teaching in international schools throughout the Middle East and UAE, he experienced firsthand the benefits of using the data provided by GL Education’s assessments to create clear and purposeful interventions. Â
